Romantic Dating Activities

Creative dating activities and ideas for the hopeless romantic.

Unfortunately, a nice dinner and a movie do not necessarily cut it in terms or romance these days. Those ideas have been overplayed and are hardly considered unique or innovative. That is why when planning a romantic date, it is important to try something new and different.

One great romantic date idea is to take a drive out into the country to look at wildflowers. On a spring or summer day, spending an afternoon looking at the flowers is a very romantic and somewhat intimate experience that the two of you can share.

When the weather is chilly, go ice skating. Ice skating is a fun activity, and many towns and cities create ice rinks for public use. Ice skating does not require any level of talent or skill, and skating around together, holding hands and helping each other up can be both sweet and fun.

One may also consider going for a bicycle ride. Rent a couple of bikes and go riding in a small town or along the beach where you can browse unique restaurants and shops. Perhaps go to a town neither one of you are very familiar with so the two of you can explore a new destination together.

Invite your date over for a home-cooked meal. Cooking or baking for another person is a very selfless act, and the host has an opportunity to share a special dish with their date. Inviting your date into your home for a meal creates a very romantic environment as well.

Knowing your partner's interests will give you insight on how they would like to spend their time with you, whether it is outdoors, at home or out on the town.
